International Congress of Complementary Medicine Research

The International Congress on Complementary Medicine Research, ICCMR, is organized annually by the International Society for Complementary Medicine Research, ISCMR. ISCMR is an international scientific organization of researchers, practitioners and policy makers that fosters Complementary and Intergrative Medicine research and provides a platform for knowledge and information exchange to enhance international communication and collaboration.

Aim of the annual congress

  • To bring together the world's leading experts of clinical and basic research in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM)
  • To provide the state of evidence for the most widespread treatment methods and to present the latest results from research
  • To discuss basic evaluative concepts, methodologies and strategies appropriate to CAM
  • To evaluate the contribution of meaning/ context effects, self regulation and specific effects
  • To discuss the role of CAM in disease prevention and public health settings
  • To be a three year rotation meeting of international Society of Complementary Medicine Research (ISCMR) between North America, Europe and Asia Pacific

 

ICCMR 2010, Tromsø, Norway

The 5th International Congress on Complementay Medicine Research in May 2010, will showcase relevant research on complementary medicine for the chronically ill, through keynote and plenary sessions, a public lecture, oral and poster presentations. The main topic areas to be covered at ICCMR 2010 are:

  • Research on use of and experience with CAM, TM amd IM
  • Trial research at the system level (pragmatic trials)
  • Trial research on efficacy of CAM treatment components
  • Health services, outcomes, evaluation
  • Research on mechanisms of CAM effects
  • Research on methodology
